Coyote Ugly. It would be great. You could all dance on the bar. It is downtown off of Broadway.
I know only two night clubs in Dubai with a mixed group only policy. One is the Trilogy and the other the ShoCho.
Although it isn't openly discussed, some bars and clubs have a door policy, which is sometimes blatantly racist. If you find this is the case, arguing with the doorman rarely makes a difference -- just don't spend your money there.
These so called door policies are there for a reason. You'll find groups of men who only go out to find women for fun (you know what I mean). With the mixed group only policy these clubs try to avoid being a meeting point for whores and their clients.
For some nationalities it's hard to enter a club also and it's called racism. But - these men are only visiting the clubs without drinking or eating anything. That's why they are not welcome. I do know that not all people from one nationality are the same, but....................
Well, you are new to Dubai and I am quiet sure that sooner or later you'll find a hang out place where you feel comfortable and welcome. Talk to some people at work and people of your own nationality and seek some tips and advices.
Take care and enjoy Dubai.
It has to do with many reasons, but the biggest you already mentioned.....
- black money ;- )
at the end of each night they pay most of there temporary staff cash:
- bouncers
- bar tenders
- cleaners
Next to that we have the stolen debit and credit cards are not being verified in those places (so, they want to reduce there risks).
these are the 2 main reasons.
La Dolce just off Air Street is pretty good (quite pricey). They have live musicians walking round jamming with the music (drum'n base/house/rock).
But if your looking for something a bit rougher (a lot rougher) head down to Vaxhaul, club 42.
But there's also a nice bar/club up in Highgate it's called Viva Viva.
As far as bars go...my favorite in the dells is the Showboat. I've always had such a good time there I haven't had much urge to seek out the other nightlife around town!
There are so many places to stay...but when I'm in town I stay at the Copa Cabana. It's pretty centrally located (you can't miss the pink skywalk) and has a pool-side bar. ;)
Have fun!
Regarding bars it depends what you drink and your company. If you are a beer man original imported beer is about € 4 - 5 for 0.4 Lt, well known beers produced in Italy taste very much like national beer and are more expensive. If you can find San Souci you will get good value for your money and it is my favorite Italian beer.
At the moment spirits are well priced with supermarkets selling Scotch from € 7 upwards for a 0.7 Lt bottle.
Check the net for locations.
No, most clubs have a dress code and I will tell you that wearing open toed shoes in a club means 'ow' for your toes. Call the club you want to go to and see what their dress code is. Most guys will wear a lighter type of fabric button down shirt and jeans. Some guys wear linen. I would drive through your downtown on a night when you aren't going out and check out what other guys are wearing.
There's always Moose's--just park along Garnet and have a walk towards the water. Each place is a bit different but you will get an idea of what they're like.
You have to be 19 to get into a drinking establishment in BC. All clubs in Vancouver check EVERYONE's ID at the door. Especially weekends. It gives the bouncer's something to do, slows down the line to make it busy inside, and keeps them legal. But any bar employee tends to ID, bounces, waitress, bartender, coat check girl. Some less desirable places may not diligently check. But you aren't likely to want to be in them, plus if you are the one under age do you want to be tagging along with a group of 20 year olds from bar to bar until you find the one that lets you stay? I'd be embarrassed. The law says everyone has to be 19 and have two pieces of ID, with one being photo ID like a driver's license or passport. The bar faces major fines on first offenses and closures for frequent offenses, so most don't see it in their interest to be in violation. The cops are more likely to be walking through busy downtown bars on weekends too.
LAst Call at 1:45 am. Stop serving at 2 am (although some continue after hours, but don't serve booze)
I'm currently in PR but I go everywhere, You'd have to tell me what city/burrow you live on :S
Its not a matter of club/bars looking at your passport to check age, but Japanese law requires all foreigners to have their passports (or Alien Registration cards) on their procession at all times.
Japan is a pretty safe country where if you lost your passport someone would turn it in.
You will find a whole group of bars/clubs out at Broadway at the Beach. It is a few blocks up 21st Ave from Ocean Blvd at the beach.
FYI, my fave place to hang is Pier14 down by the Yachtsman. It is right over the water. I go there almost every night. You might like Bummz on Ocean Blvd also.
nope ; but there is Decarlo's in Albany though ; i've been there over 3 times ; great place to go with a few friends ; if not ; try searching on www.yahoo.com for them ; type what your lookin for ; in your case ; adult bars or strip clubs ; try that ; but most of all make sure you have a adult with you over 23 so they let you in ; just tell them your the Designated Driver while your friend drinks ; that should work must have id present though
Give it a try, if it works, great, if it doesn't oh well.
It ultimately is up to the discretion of the bar/club but, a passport is a government issued photo id so there should be no problem. I have a Canadian passport and have never had any problems using it to get into bars. i would suggest bringing the expired licence along with the passport just in case. I would also suggest being VERY careful with the passport. If it is lost or stolen while she is in another country, she will have a VERY difficult time getting a replacement and may have problems in the future applying for visas in other countries if she has ever had a passport lost or stolen.
I think any age is ok to drink but in Malta, they are not a bunch of drunks like in North America, drinking wine every day is normal in the Mediterrain Sea.
It depends on your age.
Your best bet is to go to Las Olas. There are a ton of clubs there: art bar, voodoo lounge (no cover), capones, there’s one on the corner next to art bar and I can’t remember the name of it but its small and nice. There’s also a small latin club in that area as well.
Then there’s the Seminole Hotel and Casino. There are a number of clubs there (spirit, passion, etc.) but its expensive to get into, you have to be 21, and after a certain time they won’t let men in without women.
There are also other clubs in the area of ft. Lauderdale depending on where you are staying. There’s Café Iguana of Pines and Revolution.
Here’s a website with the top 10 clubs in Ft. Lauderdale (voted by users of the site) to give you an idea of where to go/what to do.

Its gonna depend on the particular bouncer and the club. What I used to do was just hand them my real ID, even if it says your 17. Most bouncers just match the picture and don't even look at the date of birth. It worked for me like 90% and even if you get caught you didn;t commit a crime and won't be fined.
